If there’s one thing you gain from a brush with cancer, it’s a crystal clear view of your life. And what I found is that there are so many ordinary moments that make up our days - moments that may seem tiring or mundane or routine. But they aren’t ordinary.

Not when you look at them through the right lens. They are actually really, really special and if you’re lucky enough to wake up in the morning and eat breakfast with people you love, then you’ve won at life.

Those moments are a gift and I get to document moments like this all the time. I feel like I won the lottery (cancer and all). And can I tell you something?
